Get a 3/8 UNF Female brake nut and braze the hole over. Unscrew the caliper pipe at flexi, screw on brazed nut it works a treat done it for years also have a metric M10 one for modern pipes in my toolbox.

I just dumped the fluid (dot4) and pressure bled afterwards, was a good opportunity to clean out a bit of old sediment in the bottom of the reservoir. Took it out to bed in the new pads and the braking performance has improved noticeably, I didn't expect much difference as at the end of the day they are only little brakes. Whether that is just down to the braided lines I am unsure, but they feel great. Washed the dust off and gave the wheels a repaint & polish, the thing is looking pretty smart for what it is. Now just have to book it in for another inspection and fingers crossed it'll be a roadgoing concern once more!
