Engine oil must have quality approval codes on the bottle, to show the buyer that they conform to some sort of standard, which I don't think Associated Dairys products have.
I think Tescos own brand oil has the bare minimum standard codes, but personally I'd just buy some proper stuff, unless my engine was using a pint every ten miles or so.... :D

Asda's oil works for me. Cooking fat or not it is cheap and hasn't let me down yet... Touch wood.
