I think you will need to fit the original white and yellow plates for the MOT. My TC is a tax exempt "L" registration fitted with black and silver plates, and my MOT tester had to get his reference book out. :?
My car is "borderline", as it was manufactured in 1972 (tax exempt) but not registered until June 1973! White and yellow plates are compulsory from January 1973.
He issued my ticket, but told me to keep the original plates in the boot, just in case :D

Good luck with your MOT test.

Thanks dave, I do know the legal requirements for black and silver and that it is supposed to be pre 72, i had a job finding someone that would even make the riveted black and silver plates at all.. MOT wont be a "problem" as its always handy when your friendly with one ;) but i will keep a set of riveted white and yellows in the boot just in case i get pulled by the rozers

You should be proud mate, worth the wait.
Did Darren's mate do the boot carpet?
I am still waiting for mine and have tried contacting him, fingers crossed he should have a set for me :)

That may be why I have been waiting 2 years as it was at the national 2009 I asked for my set
He even quoted me the prices and I was willing to pay him up front.
They look nice though, but don't leave your boot open or I will have em

I know he was getting them done and he used his as a template, so maybe the other set may be mine, hope so. Either that or his original for his car.
He promissed them so I guess he knows what he is up to.
I want to get rid of the Ital boot mat I have presently as it is not right and has a small tear.

I bet you have been turning heads with the TC?
I know I get some looks driving around mainly as you just can't miss the colour :D.
Balmy saw me coming up the A1 from miles away
