I think that you Jubilee buddies could help one another, by comparing chassis numbers. If Kev's number is lower than Paul's then it must have been built earlier. If that proves to be true, the club can can back it up with a letter for you.

I was hope when the census data comes back on line it will show Chassis numbers?

Plus it would be use full if we could post corrections for some of the cars up there for Ben to later put right?

I would think most jubilees would have had to be built before the launch which was in 1973. You may get some that were registered late or hung on in garages.

That's assuming chassis numbers match with build dates- I know Land Rover ones from that era are all over the place, and my friend's 1980 Dolomite was apparently 109th last off the line, but it's chassis number is several hundred from the end.

I was waiting for some extra info from Chris for the chassis numbers.

It will only be the last few digits as I can't display the whole number. To be honest not many people have included the chassis numbers :-(

I will try and release some data with a way you can amend data.

I've some time off soon but i wanted to do some bits on the car so I will try and do it before hand.

Only just heard about this!

So - I have a '74 car, how do I find out the actual manufacture date?

I'd rather not publish my Reg but if anyone can help?

Cheers
Rob

I couldn't see that anyone had linked this yet - apologies if I missed it : http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/ ... tax-exempt?

EDIT: That link is for pre-73 cars, that's why nobody had linked it ... as you were :-D

The club are working to find out exactly that at the moment. The new rules don't come into force until 6th April 2014, so we have nearly a year to find out.

Thanks Chris - looking a bit further, mine is on an N plate and first registered in Oct '74 so very unlikely (unless it was sat unloved in the showroom for some time :)

Possible... but unlikely I fear.

Boing!

Did anything ever come out of the club looking in to obtaining the chassis number cut offs for the new tax exemption? Creeping steadily Aprilwards now ;)

Matt

(I'm sure there was another thread discussing it- but I can't find it!)

Yup

I have all the details, however to my knowledge DVLA have yet to confirm when it starts, no confirmation yet that it will be 6th April or any other date.

Brilliant, that's the important bit! Would plan a trip to Gaydon otherwise ;)
