Has to be before 1st Jan 74.

This does at least show VED exemption is on the mind of the Conservatives so rolling exemption may not be too far away. I expect they are planning to bring the UK onto the same lines as the EU and bring in usage restrictions etc.

I will have to look into mine as it will work on the build date as well so there may be a possibility that, although registered in 1974, it may have been built in 1973. I can live in hope I suppose. ;)

What we will need to do is get the chassis numbers from BMHT for '73 cars. I suspect any registration change by DVLA will need a letter of confirmation from the MMOC/BMHT.

Guys it doesn't come in until April 2014, so don't get too excited yet.

Also we are going to need to find out some new last built in Dec 1973 chassis numbers from BMIHT, that might take 12 months in itself.

Better immediate news is that SORN will be indefinite rather than having to be renewed each year.

Look out for something in the next club magazine.

Definitely correct!

One assumes they will decide if it's going to be rolling (or if they are going to decide if they are going to add a year on a year by year basis) this time next year. I'm hoping so! Mud was registered early Feb. '74 according to the V5 (and down in deepest darkest Cornwall) so I guess there's a slight chance she's a late '73 build. Given the numbers they were built in though, I doubt it...

Could be! My TC is April '73 but was built '72 so has been tax exempt :-)
