What if the Marina was never built?

Post by ado28 » Wed Apr 02, 2008 1:44 am

If the humble Marina was not invented, which BL car from the seventies would you own (presuming you’re a BL enthusiast too)?

My choice would be a Wedgie Princess. I must confess that I didn’t like the look of them when I was a wee nugget but as my mind matured (allegedly) I grew to like the lines of the car if that makes sense and would have one in a second now!
Beauty with brains behind it!

Definately a Princess. I'd fancy an Allegro too. I have a soft spot for them.

I've got a pair of Allegros already, but without a Marina sized lump in one garage I'd be on the lookout for a Wolesley 18-22 wedge or an early R/S reg XJ-S.

 Aworld without the Marina...what a terrible thought!
I Suppose if i`m honest it would have to be a Dolly Sprint, i already have my other favourite BL Product...the Mini, and the only other possibility would be a 1300 GT (1100 Shape), great little car, loads of fun to drive!

8) good point Crashbang, and one that most other BL Clubs fail to recognise!, many of them owe their existence to the Marina...look what happened to the MGB when Marinas stopped using the 1800 B series engine
