Hello there!

Post by The Source » Sun Aug 03, 2008 11:08 am

Just in case my last attempt sunk without trace, I will try again.
Am I right in thinking that the club was founded in 1985? So shouldnt it be 23 years on the front of the magazine?
Also, unless the pictures of Brian Ford's Ital were airbrushed, isnt it the best Ital around? So what happened to the judging at The National?
Looking forward to your comments.
if its to small we throw it back.

Paul's right, the judge on the day thought the winner was best, all the judging forms were kept in the event of queries/disputes by the car owners.

From memory the Ital winner was judged ahead because it is all original nothing touched and not refurbished - originality counts when judging. That's not to denigrate Brians car - it's just as beautiful close up.

8) You are dead right Stu..There was enough crap about last years judging without reading it again.
As far as I am concerned it is a day out with like minded people with one common interest.
If you dont win a prize so what. Dont go moaning about it on a forum.
Its only a bit of fun. So maybe "The Source" being a fisherman should sling his hook

As you are so quick to point out typos - your signature is shocking.

It's needs an apostrophe and I am fairly sure you mean too and If needs capitalising.

Also if the club was founded after August 1985 then it would still be 22 until the corresponding month was reached.

Your last attempt was talking about Morris Minors, perhaps not a forte subject of our members - hence the lack of replies.

Also shouldn't and isn't also need an apostrophe.

Pedantry over, the judging was based on aspects including originality and there were no complaints on the day. Am I also right in thinking that the cars were only entered into one category each? Or did I make that up, I've been up since 5 brain only running on 3 cylinders.

Hi Ray,

No mate it's always been that colour - two owners and about 25,000 from new. Great car. You must be thinking of another.

Sam - the cars could be entered into more than one category, say Best Mk1, Best Modified and Most improved. Also Frank's trophy is his own call or in his absence the Chairmans' - along the lines of which car Frank would like to take home.

Hope that I got the apostrophies correct.

Ah ok cool, cheers Chris.

And I only get my Grammar Nazi hat out when people nit pick for no reason, especially those who like to stand and point out things that are wrong rather than see how they can help improve it.

As for the judging, I think the amount of work Brian has put into his car to get it to a truly fantastic standard is best recognised by the Most Improved - especially with such a fantastic turn out of cars.

It's only my own opinion, but I think Most Improved actually says a great deal about a car. It is the 'most improved' of all the cars at the show, where-as Best anything is only looking at the cars for that model/type that are there. So Most Improved was judged across 40+ cars on the day.

For me the Warren brothers Mk1 1.3 ran it a very close second for the category, the quality of that car was also exceptional.
