The journey wasn't too eventful but it was made more interesting by not knowing how fast we were going (the speedo decided to not work) and not having an MoT or tax....
She was misfiring and rather a lot of smoke was coming out the back so it looks like I'm going to have lots of fun doing the mechanics and sorting them out, just the sort of project I wanted
It took my dad a little while to get used to driving a car without power steering and with a 4 speed gearbox again. Not to mention that the windscreen wiper switch and indicator switch are on opposite sides to that of my parents' Renault Megane and my dad's work van so he put the windscreen wipers on at the first couple of junctions
She got there alright in the end, when we pulled up outside the garage she cut out but started again first time
These are the jobs for the next few weeks/months/years:
Replace slave cylinder (being done by garage)
Welding to o/s/f jacking point (being done by garage)
Bloody good clean
Fix speedo
Fit new bonnet release cable
Sort out mechanics
Sort out bodywork
Sort out interior (probably the tattiest bit of the car, should clean up alright)
I can almost feel my wallet becoming lighter every second
