Ladybank

Post by ado28 » Sun Aug 31, 2008 8:43 am

Well today Team Ecosse will be coming out of our mid summer break and attending Ladybank in Fife. We attended this show last year and put on an excellent display and got humped by 2 MG’s, one being a new MG and the other being a Rubber bumper car. Will get Ray to put up some photos on his return.

The weather was very poor to say the least. We attended this event last year with twice the amount of cars and without predigest I personally felt that Marina Ecosse club stand was the tidiest and very well presented coupled with every type of standard Marina from a Mk1 coupe to an Ital. We (at the time) didn’t realise that the display of a club stand was part of the prize giving and when went to watch the prize giving this was when we realised that there was a prize for such a display. We were very shocked when the club stand next to ours were the winners. They managed to win best club stand and all they had to show for it was a new and an old mg with a $hitty sandwich board separating the cars telling the onlookers what club they were from!

This year I took great delight when one of the committee members asked me how many Marinas were going to be attending. I replied 5 cars only this year. Once we received our programs we noticed that there was a special section for the “Best Morris carâ€￾ Considering there weren’t many Morris’s there we decided not to enter it and after about an hour and a half Ray and I decided to pull the plug and disappear. The setting is nice at this show but to be totally honest it’s not for me. There is no auto jumble and I like a good rummage at a car show!

Hi Jim, The mk2 estate is a cracker but it now needs work doing to it and a fresh coat of paint. A job for uncle Joe I think
