MMOC National 2009

Post by MarinaCoupe » Sun Feb 01, 2009 3:45 pm

Hi All,

The 2009 MMOC National Show will take place on Sunday 5th July - Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum, Halland, Lewes, Sussex, BN8 5AF.

The 2009 MMOC National Road Run will take place on Saturday 4th July leaving from Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum for a tour of the local highways and byways, stopping at places of interest, around 50 miles total, say 3-4 hours with stops.

I can thoroughly recommend both events. The Saturday run is for members only, for the Sunday show, all Marina, Ital and other classic cars and their owners welcome. Show and shine judging, including best visitor.

More details on club website shortly.

I reckon that we could do some shared cars on the Saturday. I did it last year with Ben as my Coupe was still in bits, we shared the petrol costs.

Anyone out there looking for a ride on the Saturday? We should be able to fix everyone up through the forum.

I'd love to come. Have to tell the Mark and the Lads at Southern Triumph to get on with the car

I suddenly realised the other day that this event is looming rather quickly. I intend to take the long trip over (not sure if the TC is intending to make it though  ) and Kev ( Tundra Coupe )is too. Not sure when we are planning to arrive. It got to be a good 4.5-5 hours drive for us so if we set off early on saturday we would probably arrive just as the drive out is happening..........Lots of driving in one day with two mildly interested wifes might be a recipe for disaster

So, my question is, or rather are.......

Is anyone else from this way planning on going up? Fancy a convoy? :D

Is anything planned for Saturday night?

Any reccomended campsites or decent b&b's?

Thanks

Hi All,

Looking forward to the national and will be camping along with followers. (Wife, daughter and father!)

Car in for it's mot on Tuesday and should fly through!
Only problem is a slight knocking/rattling coming from passenger front suspension, any ideas?

After a good wash and polish away we go!

Either the steering rack bush - or play in the top swivel joint.
My guess.. :)
If the rack bush has gone, you will find play in the left wheel as the end of the rack is able to move up and down.
You can check for play in the swivel by removing the wheel - supporting the lower arm so the shock absorber is off its stop - then using a large adjustable spanner to grip the edge of the reaction pad nut - check for up and down play. Can be adjusted without removing anything.
Of course - might just need to adjust your wheel bearings...
Cheers.

It's the bearings!
Had advisory on both sides at MOT.

Thanks for the info Kilroy, top man!
