I went to the car to go to work this morning and this is what I found;
I am certain that if Mr Clarkson hadn't made it 'cool' to destroy our Morris marina's, then this would not have happened.
Does anyone know if the glazing rubber is still available?

I'm truly sorry to see what has happened to your car. It's a sad fact of life that so many people no longer have any respect for other people's property. This may well have been inspired by Top Gear or it may just have been a random act of vandalism, either way it is disgusting. I have a spare tailgate in my shed which has a rear screen in it. You are welcome to have the screen, if it helps you out. Unfortunately you couldn't be further away from me if you tried but i,m sure we could work out a safe method of courioring it to you.

Aw man...
East Kent have the rubber, and you can trim it to length and cut and shut it in place.
They should castrate the scrotes who they catch doing this.
Or anyone wearing a hoody or a baseball cap on the back of their head.

nice looking estate car you have there as well, just some stupid litlle boys with their heads filled. Clarkson actually was slagging of his own fans yesterday in the papers up here and the top gear team were in person at some tv festival in edinburgh yesterday, if only we had known earlier. I'm sure you will get the car sorted out through east kent and it will be as good as new again. Good Luck.

if this happens to any more of our cars, one is the insurance going to go up? and two, can we get some sort of action against the portrayal of our cars to the public?
as in compensation from the bbc for encouraging a hate of marinas?
if that make sence?

This is almost the 2nd sound Mk1 estate that I have seen on this forum, and tundra never was a common colour.......it would be nice to see more pix of this car please!
Shame some eejit bust your window although surely the rubber should be re-usable unless it was already perished???

Thank you everyone for your sympathy.
Thankfully I got a spare tailgate glass with the car, and the rubber from that one looks useable (although it has a plastic insert rather than the chrome) Thank you to wfb - Barry for the very kind offer though. Its great to know there are such kind and generous people about and not just the lowlife kind who take pleasure in other peoples pain!
And just for XER905L here are a few more pictures.
Matt.

Gorgeous car, I'd watch out though.
If the people really do have a thing against Marinas now they may find it very amusing you fixed your car and not be against doing it again.

There really are some low lives in this world, its such a shame. Hopefully you will be up and running again in no time. I have restored a Marina and I am scared to leave it anywhere partly as it its a vulnerable old car and an easy target and secondly due to this topgear rabble that will spot it in the car park or on the street and trash it. I dont think the bbc thought for one second about the effect this overplayed joke on tv has on marina owners and kids who watch the show and just vandalise for a cheap laugh.

Thankyou for sharing pictures of your fine car

Was it originally teal blue or have you fitted blue rear vents and rear door 1/4 window verticals?
The Mk 1 estate is my favourite and the most practical daily driver from the whole range, being my very first car. Sadly while I still have mine, it is rusty beyond economic repair and it makes more sense to buy a really good one when it appears and keep my original as the static trophy it has been for the past 10 years

thats out of order. someone also damaged my marina after clarkson voiced his mindless dribble, anyway i was posting to say that if the estate rubbers are designed like the car ones, the stainless trims will fit into the later plastic insert type rubber you have to fit them into the rubber before you fit the screen to the car, hope it helps
