new addition to my family

Post by mk2 golfer » Wed Mar 17, 2010 10:40 am

Hi all, the newest member of my family, MK1 1800 Automatic Morris Marina or 'woody' (ORK, oak, tree, wood, yeah i know  ) as my wife affectionately calls him, brought him up to Blackpool on Tuesday 9th March from sunny Croydon, only got lost once in London, I wasn't navigating, still, got to drive round the Marble Arch roundabout about 3 times tho :) , theres a bit of tinworm but nowt that can't be sorted with a big hammer, I mean welder, I'll post pics of the dreaded tinworm as I come across it, I've seen it but can't be bothered getting the camera out yet , theres a pic of him in the garage section as the board attachment quota has been reached, typical  , there you'll find out why my missus (and me now) call him woody.

Paul,

Well done with the Estate. You can still post links by storing pictures on a free Flikr or similar account and then attaching links using the "Img" button (short for Image) and pasting in the Flikr location.

This is the link to the photobucket site of my car,chttp://s771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/mk2_golfer/, hopefully before too long i'll have pics of the rust although you can pretty much see most of it, the engine was seized but is now free as a bird and turns over on the ignition, just need to get it started, i've stripped and cleaned the carb and 'acquired' a new (ish) battery, the main points of the rust are:-
Fronts of both front wings,
Behind the offside headlight, gone right through in 2 places,
Bottom of the boot lid is just scabbing a bit,
Inside the boot in the nearside well where the spare wheel resides has a small hole the size of a pin prick but I know its gonna get worse when I attack it,
Superficial rust just above the nearside rear light,
Nearside front wing around the 'super' badge,
Bottom of nearside rear door scabbing a little,
Front of nearside rear wheel arch scabbing a little too,
Bottom of offside front wing is a bit holy,
Bottom of offside front door scabbing,
Front of offside rear wheel arch scabbing,
Nearside floor area has a little hole thats been covered in newspaper?
Bits of paint flaking off here and there, all the other rust is just surface rust from what I can see, you scrape it off and it doesn't turn into a big gaping hole, which is nice, just need to borrow a welder from someone now, well thats it so far, should keep me out of trouble for a bit :)

Paul,

When you hover over a picture, two little labels come up underneath, if you click into IMG one it will turn blue. Right click on the IMG and click on 'copy' in the menu that appears. Then go back to this forum and right click and click on Paste and you get the picture address pasted into your posting, like the one below.
