aussie TC

yesterday i went and had a look at a marina south of brisbane that was said to be a TC.
well it was its a very borderline case, but the anomolies are
2/72 build
car number 41 (YH2S5 541)
colour Jet Red
has a leyland motor and master cylinder in it, has 90 percent of the TC gear on it
dammit i would like to have it but a bit out of my league with the the rust even though i have spares

What did the Aussie TC get that the standard 1750 didn't get? The only differences I can recall between the 1750 Coupe I had and a TC were :-
twin carbs
rev counter instead of clock
centre console
TC badges
wooden steering wheel

I fitted a rev counter and centre console to my coupe, but not the twin carbs.

Did the TC have a black vinyl strip between the tail-lights?

Carle, right number for a TC Coupe Auto.

yep the TC got tyhe strip between the tial lights and different grille
in the engine it got twin carbs, no vacuum distributer and slightly raised compression via
different pistons all for a 12HP increase

Do you have any photos of this early Aussie car to share with the forum? Even if its a basket case it would be wonderful for us all to be able to see this unusual model which is close to its 40th birthday,thanks in advance

*sigh* Those last pictures look nearly EXACTLY how my car did when I first got it (except in blaze) Instead of sitting round the back not running... with only a single carb.. haha ohwell

Very nice pix indeed of both cars.Am i correct seeing the limeflower car seen some years ago with original plates and then as found dusty with a different grile? A very UK colour on this early Aussie car..........

No servo? Has it got disc brakes on the front?? They must be thin on the ground over there,have you just bought this car,looks in good order?

Genuine original one lady owner for 37 years. :shock: Disc brakes on front (1750 OHC E-series weighs about 40kg less than B-series).

Not mine, unfortunately. Sold at auction last year for $NZ3,500, needed about $1,000 worth of rust repairs (front guards, "B" pillars, rear window).
