How many Marina's and Itals are left?

Post by Al Williams » Fri Sep 21, 2007 1:09 pm

I was thinking last night whilst at work just how rare Marina's/Ital's are these days, and how many of which models are left, in particular the Sun tor.

I found this 1.8 coupe near me which the old boy will not sell!

He also had a saloon next to a Riley 1.5.

I won't bore you all with the rest of the chaps collection, but a Fiat Topolino is one!

What would be the rarest of them all?

Mumford?
81 Escort RS 1600i Retirement fund!
80 Opel Manta GT/J long term partner.
80 Vauxhall Cavalier Sportshatch...going...

78 Triumph Dolomite 1300TC experimental chariot!
75 Marina Sun Tor Retirement home!!!

I was going to write to the DVLA and try and get the numbers released of ones that are up and running... I will see if I can get that off within the next week. Statistically data such as the amount of cars should be released under the freedom of information act, however you will then have to factor in all the cars that are off road in fields and the like!

There is a guy you can email there, but I can't find his addy. It will only show those cars either registered or on SORN, so if something was layed up before 1998 it won't be on there.
The classic car movement needs Jeremy Clarkson like Jenson Button needs a towhitch and a Sprite Musketeer....

I'd quite like a breakdown of 1.3s, 1.8s, TC etc etc

well I stand corrected then! Do you reckon you could find it out? I'll send off another letter anyways and we can compare the lists see how much has changed in the x amount of time since the last one :)
