Was it possible to buy an automatic 1275cc Marina in 2 and 4dr configurations? If so, were automatic 1275cc Itals made?
I know that 1798cc models were made as automatics, but cannot recall whether 1275cc variants were made; I would be grateful for some guidance please.
My girlfriend is a relatively new driver and prefers automatic transmission, so I am weighing up various classic car options; a coupe would be ideal!
Thank you.

Hi marina1700HL
yes you could order a ital 1.3 automatic saloon but i don't think estate
mk1' and 2's were automatic 1.3/1.8 but again unsure on 1.3 coupe/estates
mk3's 1.3/1.7 but again can't recall seeing a 1.3 mk3 coupe/estate with an auto.
also 1.7 ital auto and the range topping 2.0 ital that had auto as standard fitment
im sure somebody will correct me if i' wrong.
best regards
Barry

Barry,
Many thanks for providing such a comprehensive response. I would really prefer a 1275cc variant, so will have to keep my eyes open!

Re: Marina Automatic
just an interesting comparison, in Australia the 1500cc "small" engine came as a manual only
it was only the 1750cc that had the auto and then later the 2620cc 6cyl
