Sealed beam bulbs

Post by Philip » Mon Dec 20, 2010 5:42 pm

Hi, the Marina has blown a headlamp bulb. Are these still obtainable?

Ebay you can get them not all are marked with Lucas original mark in the centre.
Not sure if you need to be original or not!
You can also fit H4 units in stead and fit a H4 halogen bulb which is better if you use the car a lot.

If they are sealed beams then you change the whole lamp unit and not the bulb as they do not have a separate bulb hence sealed beam!

Easy to get hold of, eBay or my "proper" local motor factors had them. I replaced them with halogen H4 units tho, much better.

Cheers lads, I got one from my local factors. As for light output, I actually find them pretty good personally.
How are you getting on Matt? Still got the Marina, you were selling weren't you?

Ha, just "bumped" the for sale post actually, I do still have her (and the Rover 75) at the moment, but the Marina hasn't been used for far too long and I'm considering selling both- been offered a Land Rover at a price I can't argue with- but it's a petrol so I need to try and find some money for an LPG kit!

The Rover is great (it's even good in the snow) but so very dull. And the Marina just looks sorry for itself, I feel bad every time I look at it...

Sorry your selling. I need to sell a car. Either the N reg Marina or the Rover 75. I would actually rather keep the 2 Marinas and sell the 75 but had no in interest in either unfortunately. I am quite attached to the Marina so like you want it to go to a good home even though it needs a lot of work.

If it doesn't sell to a known forum member it's going back to hiding in the shed!
