Well done jim, 10 stars! ! No wounder the production company didn't use many BL cars in later series! They kept giving them different ones all the time!

Kept the number plates so fond memories maybe!? (It's almost like Marinas on the radio so not really off topic  )

The Mrs was watching some stuff on Crime Tv yesterday; they were on about the Black Panther. Loads of Marinas being used by the Police as unmarked cars, they even had a Harvest Gold Mk1 1.8 as lead car in the convoys in and out of jail (along with a Vauxhall Victor, Mk3 Cortina and Mk1 Transit). I love these old documentaries!
The classic car movement needs Jeremy Clarkson like Jenson Button needs a towhitch and a Sprite Musketeer....

The Sweeney II feature film was on ITV4 tonight, mostly old fords featured. There were a few marinas in the back ground during the opening title sequence and the wreckage of a blue mark 2 saloon appears about 10 minutes in, the aftermath of a getaway gone wrong. It reappears in the back ground of various scenes as it lies in the police yard. Apart from that lots of granadas, cortinas, a couple of avengers and Regan in a maxi. All good stuff!

There was a Marina in the ITV drama The Outsiders which stared Nigel Harman a while back. He also used to play young guy, Dennis Rickman in Eastenders.
Also Moggie Minor was in it!
Not sure it they will repeat it

Let's not forget that it was a Marina (teal blue, 1.8 Super - OVG 552M) that killed Det Sgt George Carter's missus, Alison, in the second series of The Sweeney - in an episode named "Hit and Run".

In a series one episode "Big Spender", a pre-Alf Garnett, Warren Mitchell, has a green 1.8 saloon OXE 903L.

Also in series two (episode called "Faces"), a blue Marina 1300 (HVF 843N) turns up, lights ablaze to a shootout...after the gang has escaped over a wall. Hence Regan's sarcastic retort "Sheriff, they went thataway"...

In "Country Boy", Regan and Carter need the help of a 'boffin from Bristol' who specialises in alarms. Det Sgt David Keel uses his own transport, a harvest gold 1300 saloon (HVF 837N).

The more I think on this, maybe I should get out more...

Isn't it strange that the Marina in 'Frightmare' is only three digits in the license plate away from the teal blue Marina used in the Sweeney..
