Well, I'd be worried if I saw that looming in my rear-view mirror....albeit that'd be because I'd know that I'd worked on the brakes!!

very nice! 8) , Jimbo will be very jealous, he`s always wanted a Marina Police car  , where did you find that top box?, it looks the business 8) , makes a nice change from all those boring little Allegro panda cars!, we have a Police sergeant down here who used to drive Marina TC`s in the Hampshire force as high speed pursuit cars  :) , apparently he said they could catch most things as long as you put a bag of cement in the boot to keep the arse end on the ground :!:

You're right Jan, it would not be legal for any car to be on the road whilst bearing the word "police", that would have to be covered up. Likewise, any emergency equipment must be beyond use (blue light covered and two-tones disabled).

Technically speaking, the Road Traffic Act says that it's an offence "whether working or not" but I'll find a way round it.

A friend of mine knew of my passion for classic cars and managed to come up with the roofbox and blue light. They aren't wired up (but can be quite easilly), just placed on the roof. I also have two tones for under the bonnet and another friend in the signwriting business (for the old "jam sandwich")...my only torment is whether to do it or not! :?:

Having looked into it, not many forces had Marinas - I've heard of those Hampshire TCs (apparently, they soon became Chief Inspectors' motors [for major incidents] as the pursuit drivers didn't rate them) and even have a book depicting one of them in action! 8)

I like that scenario alot. Does anyone have any pics of Marinas in police guise. Is there any way you can do a scan of that book....

Looks like they know about it now!! Come to think on it, whatever happened to that film....I was expecting some royalties!?!?

Yeah, I remember that long and winding run alongside the M74...but don't worry, if I'm struggling, I'll just need to enlist the help of the P.C. with the ex-Strathclyde Police Granada 2.8!!
