What one was that then?

Did anyone not draw lines for Frank to write on back then? I almost got sea sick!

Always nice to have some history then! See even you have to admit that it is more than just metal!

 You cheeky bas**rds, :!: if only you knew how many letters i had to quickly scribble out like that one, it was hard work being secretary, chairman, editor and general all round mr. helpful!!, i spent years getting this club off the ground with little or no help at the start, still it was all worth it in the end  , everyone got a hand written reply to any queries as in those days there was no internet, so you had to rely on the post, gradually i had loads of help from the likes of Cliff Talkington, Phil Dunster, Marston Stratton, and of course my original club partner Clive Higgins who took care of the Treasurers side of things, i must admit Gary, seeing that letter like that now it does look a bit amateurish, but then again that is just what it was then  :)

And fair play to you mate! ! It must have taken a lot of effort to get the club off the ground like you did back then! How many of the MG lot can say they had such a club at the start!

 I have just had it pointed out to me by my lovely wife that she helped me a lot too...which of course is very true, she put up with loads of letter writing most evenings, she typed out loads of official letters etc, of course in those days Austin Rover were still going and you had to get permission for everything, it took ages to even get permission to use the word Marina on the club letterheads and everything had to be done in triplicate  , every time i used a road test report it had to be acknowledged and so it went on....now everyone just bungs it all on the net and away it goes!!!, if only i had one of these things in those days eh!(computer, that is)
