Yes, the club do silicone 1.3 (not 1.8 or 1.7) hoses. Yes you must be a member first.

Was talking with Andy about them at NEC, we need to re-order 1.3s shortly (nearly 100 pairs sold) and were considering an order for 1.7 'O' series as well. Just as a guide who could be interested in 1.7s, if we have some made up?

What are the advantages of silicone hoses then out of curiosity? (and a possibility of adding something else to the shopping list...  )

In the short term no advantage at all, but given that all the hoses on the market right now have got to be 10-15 years old before fitting, real new hoses silicon or otherwise have got to be good. The thing is that it easier to get a small (50 or 100) batch done in silicon than it is to get 1,000 rubber ones done. For the club to invest we need to work out what we can afford and how long until we get our money back to invest onto something else for the cars.

When the club first launched the silicone 1.3 rad hoses, the ad in the club mag said 1.8 heater hoses were going to be next - what's happened to change that? I'm sure they would definately sell well.

We didn't proceed with the 1.8s as they still come up at autojumbles and on Ebay. We couldn't afford to sit on them when we would have had to charge more to cover our costs than the EBay variety.

About different coloured hoses, you can buy silicone tape which is wound round any type of hose you like. The silicone blends into itself hiding the edges.

Sorry Chris, i have to pick you up on that one mate....1.8 Heater hoses NEVER come up on ebay, i`ve been looking for a couple of years now, along with several others on this forum i`m sure
We could really do with some of these, i for one would buy half a dozen sets.

I've bought 3 or 4 heater hoses over the last year or two-most with no other bids on them! Which eBay have you been looking at? :)
Unfortunately as I found out recently when looking for one for vermillion, since I moved I can't find any of them :(

No probs mate  , as you said there are plenty of Rad hoses out there for the 1.8 , but the Heater ones really are becoming a problem now...so perhaps we should get some under way next year?
Balmy...so it was you who nabbed the only heater hoses in the universe for an 1800  ...where are they now though?...i could do with a couple of pairs if you find them

It's seriously worrying me cause they where in a box with other Marina spares-but what I can't really remember.......
Wonder if Barmy and Fruity helping me move has anything to do with it?
Ive now started collecting other rare bits-was getting bored with my stockpile of hoses! Though I did buy 4 bottom hoses for 1.8's for 99p the other week! :)
