I was making my way home from my weekly trip to the local council tip when I spied this in my rearview mirror
Methinks, I haven't seen that around, wonder who it could belong to. So I pull over let it pass me and followed it all the way home. You can imagine my shock when I find out that the car lives about 1/4 mile away from where I live. The guy got out of the car and looked at me a bit strangely until I introduced myself, he was then pleasantly satisfied as he had been trying to find out a bit about the club. The car was purchased in 1972 by the present owner. Yes one owner from new and 56,000 on the clock. No Josh he's not planning to sell it

. It was the last car that Hallens of Cambridge supplied before they went to Toyota. The owner is Michael and after talking to him it would seem that he would like to bring it out to a few shows next year. And yes Josh it is a genuine DL in Mallard. Here are a couple more pics for you. Enjoy

Best you have an awfull lot of money then Josh. Michael was in a petrol station a little while ago and a guy walked up to him and offered him £3000 cash for the car. As you can see Michael turned it down

Lovely, how nice to find one still in use by the original owner.
Just makes me wish I'd bid more on that DL coupe that's just been on eBay!!

Think you'd have to be mad to pay 3 grand for that

I did say to Michael that the guy must have been mad to offer that sort of money but I think Michael was mad not to take it. I would have.

Nah he knows deep down it would be better off going to a home with another Mallard DL for half the price
Really hope we can get the cars together sometime
Just noticed the interesting placement of the BL wing badge, and there isn't one on the other side either.
By the looks of it it even has the same interior as mine! I want it soooo much!

Someone actually reads my posts about windscreen rubbers?!
Us DL owners don't need any fancy stainless trim to show off to the world, let alone blue interiors. We know we are great.

Rarity doesn't equal desirability

Well it obviously did for the guy who offered him that
When a decent Jubilee can be had on eBay for £500 I'd rather have that!
