Marina GT

Post by ClaytonSpeed » Fri Feb 22, 2013 7:57 pm

Can anyone tell me if they know of any GT's about in need of repair, for sale?? Odd question but does anyone know what happened to Darren Whites one?

I know it's a long shot but you never know!

I know it was sold but no idea where it went.
It would not need a lot.
I have only seen 3. Phil's White one which he sold, a pale met green one at Peterborough a few years back and Darren's one.

I think GTs and HLs are very rare now.

I nearly had the GT of Darren's before he had it. It was very sound.

I've only got 2 HL's on the database and 1 GT..

I was offered that car, but decided it was better to let it go to someone else as in reality I haven't got the setup here for the sort of work it deserved to do it justice.
It was a sort of honey redish brown colour IIRC?

Definately needed sills both sides (I don't believe in patches) but was otherwise relitively solid. I kick myself quite often for turning that car down.

To the best of my knowledge there are 8 Mk2 HL's left. There has been a Jade Green one in CCW so I'm told. Is it the same one that was on e-bay??

I imagine there is probably only that many surviving GT's now too??

I had a GT a while ago, NTF 628R, starred in the MMOC calendar, then had a lot of bodywork, repainted Sandglow and sold on a couple of years ago to Marcus who has a white one. I think he was planning to restore it properly.... I also had another one which was in fine mechanical fettle but was rusted to hell; now gone (but I still have the V5....)
The classic car movement needs Jeremy Clarkson like Jenson Button needs a towhitch and a Sprite Musketeer....
