speedo drive colours

Post by lock1506 » Mon Jul 01, 2013 8:55 pm

Hi does anyone know what colour speedo drive a 1972 mk1 1.3 should have in it. Mine reads about right at 30 but 50 on the clock is about 65 at the wheels and 75 on the clock puts me in the outside lane overtaking the surprised modern drivers. (It is a modified 1380) I'm just thinking it might have the wrong drive in because I know the axle and dash clocks are original.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

It should be black I think. I put up a table of colours, ratios and uses.

Anyone find it.

My advice is to stay in the outside lane and deny the existance of satnav.... ;)
Sounds like a cool spec and one I've thought of myself. I there a thread on it?

Hi Gil

Yes, very useful, if you can bring them down, that would be great.

Hi thanks for that table Chris, I'll check it at the weekend. I think I have a couple of them still kicking about if it has got the wrong one in. Sorry Number 63 but no I didn't do a thread on it when I built it.
