Some old photos...

I was recently speaking to a chap who owned a few Marinas back in the day. He dug out some photos, little did I know they would all turn out to be quite interesting cars!

This J reg coupe started out life as Flame Red, was scrapped in 1983. Registered 4th June so probably one of the cars that was built pre-launch.


Early MK2 scrapped in 1991


Very late MK1 scrapped in 1989


And last but not least a very early van, registered on the 8th August 72! Would almost have certainly been built before the van was launched. The oldest known surviving van by comparison wasn't registered until late August 72. Sadly it was very rotten and was scrapped in about 1988. The guy regrets it to this day!


He also lived in Cyprus for a while and got a few pics of some Marinas out there

First few have local regs to me. Last lot look like Cyprus ones?

Most of those looked tidy.

The J reg had been resprayed Teal Blue and was quite rotten when scrapped, the P reg MK1 was repainted by hand and you can see in the photo where rust was painted over Typical 80s Marinas

The ones in Cyprus looked very solid, sadly most were scrapped when the yard was largely cleared in 2010.
