Colum switch broken

Post by Brenjacques » Wed Apr 20, 2016 10:39 pm

Hi, the spring in my colum switch for the fog lights has broken meaning that the control jumps into then on position. I have found the part that has snapped off and just wondered if it was repairable? Does anyone also have any photos for reference? It is the mk3 type.
Cheers

Do you mean the main beam head lights in the grill come on? If it is a MK3 are the smaller square lamps main beam driving lamps or fogs?
As far as I know fogs are not controlled on the steering column switches on any Marina?
The part can be replaced but only from another good switch!
It can't be glued as the plastic needs to be flexible and as far as I know you can't get the part separately.

They are main beam driving lamps :-)

The little bit that has broken is made from nylon and isn't repairable. The insides of Marina/Ital/Mini/Allegro etc indicators and headlamp flashers are all the same. So if you are up to it, you can buy a secondhand unit and strip it down and then fit the nylon part to your unit.
