Re: It's sick and wrong...

To the best of my knowledge and belief, this thing really did exist! Does anyone remember it?

Ah yes, that must be the one. Is he in the club? Sounds like he'll be a handy person to know when I put the car back on the road come springtime!

Two tone estate...

...in duo green, apparently was parked outside my house in Chatham earlier today. My flatmate says it was a Marina, though from his discription it sounds more like an Ital.

Anyone know who it belongs to?

Re: Stolen Mk1 Estate - West Midlands

Another estate lost – very sad.

Just goes to show that whatever you drive, someone might have an eye on it.

Re: Could this be salvaged?

Fascinating set. The poster appears to have owned (or know someone who owns) at least five Marinas and Itals as well as various A55s and Fiestas. Clearly he couldn't bear to part with any of them when they reached the end of the road though! I wonder what the story is behind them?

Re: Blue morris marina in pratical classics rust in pieces

Carcruiser is quite right - reflective plates were available throughout the 'sixties. By the time the old black plates were illegal on new cars ('73 L-reg I think) pretty well all new cars had been specified with reflective plates for years – or so I'm told.

I haven't read the article in PC (as ...

Re: Oh dear...

Don't even consider an engine swap.

Phone some of the specialist brokers in the popular classic car mags - they will give you a much better price and cover than any high St broker as they calculate risks differently.

Adrian Flux is usually the best for younger drivers. They consider all age groups ...

...Under no circumstances would I ever sell out to that goon. One can always scrape up some more money and buy more cars, but the feeling you've been 'had' will last forever.

Anyhow, thought you lot would appreciate this link...

Looks like a fantastic road trip. Great to see an estate being used for the purpose it was designed for.

Re: marina rally cars

Strictly speaking the coupé is a two door saloon as 'coupé' means 'cut short', which the Marina is not. There was a design study done in making a four-door Marina with the fastback body, as well as one for a true sports coupé which was codenamed Condor.

Yes, BL poached Roy Haynes, who had been ...

Re: TC Coupe MSJ 758 N

It would be great to restore this car - I hope somebody does.

Has not been taxed since 1988!

Does anybody know how many TC Coupé are still on the planet?

Re: Army Ital Estate Hampshire **Pic added**

I think that was (and possibly still is) part of Kim Henson's fleet. If so then it is in good hands - he has written several books on the subject of maintaining various BMC models!
