I may have the Cornish owners details somewhere as I looked at buying it when they had it for sale. I'll have a sift through my e-mails when I'm back from the national and see if I can find anything.

Request for some info SAE632M

Hi all :D I'm trying to trace the previous owners of my coupe SAE632M and create a "back story" together. I purchased it in May 12 through Ebay and subsequently found that Dan Cowan (On here a while back) had bought it from a seller in Cornwall who sold her to Dan in 2011. I've spent hours searching ...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Topped up the oil in the rear axle and drained and re-filled the gearbox. I couldn't find EP90 anywhere, but after doing some reading decided Castrols Manual gear oil EP80W90 GL4 was suitable. Took it for a spin down the local bypass to get things circulating. Nothings gone bang yet. ;)

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

It's nice to know that 40 years after leaving the factory, on a sunny afternoon all across Britain. People are still spending time looking after their Marinas.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Defiantly. You can see where it's been spot welded on. And there's quite a gap where it joins to the top by the scuttle. Scuttle has quite a big hole in it. Sills have started to go, and spare wheel well is full of filler :(

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

In a follow up to trying to rescue TDT461L the other day. My mate has had it recovered home today. First concerns about the rear axle being suspect have been layed to rest, as we have discovered that the gear-box is to blame. She's lost 1st & reverse, but runs and drives..just about. Fortunately I ...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Could be a number of contributing factors. The gear selector was very also stiff. but the wheels would turn once in gear, "bang"
then stop, then turn again, but only on one side?. I'd put money on it being diff or shaft related...will report back once we've got it home ;)

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?

Went to Southampton on a recovery mission to collect another Marina my mate has just bought through Ebay.
The evening started well, and after a lot of faffing around got a car that had been sat for over 14 months running.
A combo of stale fuel, blocked and sticking float chamber and a flat battery ...
