Ignition and door locks - and keys

Post by Fille » Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:08 pm

I have only got one set of keys for my TC, and these keys are not original - ie no marks or numbers on them. Can anyone advice where I could get hold of a new set of locks, preferrably with keys ;) or if there is some way of getting original keys to my current locks.

Hi, I bought 2 blank ignition keys from here! Ebay Item number: 250427950928 I think they came all the way from the USA.
It is worth e-mailing him as this item number is probably wrong but if you send details or pictures of your key end on etc may have the right blank. You then need to get them cut to your original key for the ignition.
Then I re-levered the glove box to fit this key.
Then I bought a new door handle with two keys (Original Leyland ones and re-levered all the other locks to these.

They do come up on ebay but not normally a set for ignition and doors as far as I know.

Cheers,
Paul.

Thanks Paul,

I presume we have the same type of locks, right? Do you remeber or have any reference as to what type of key it was? I have emailed the seller and he does not know straight away which type it is. It can be BL, AA, MG or RV coded... I ttried taking pictures of my keys but it is really difficult to take pics of keys!

These were the pictures I sent the chap!
Was a while ago now and not sure if you have the same lock on the ignition.
It was only the ignition key I got from this guy.
The door keys were always different to the ignition.

Check these against your keys and ask him if he can do this type!

Hope this helps,
Paul.
