Have seen them and used one but am wary of cheap versions. Has the one you are looking at got an adjustable darkness control so you can set it for gas or arc welding?
I have a standard welding mask but its too dark for me and I was looking for an Auto Darkening one.

Keep us informed if you buy.

Hello all,
I got one costing £25 plus £5 postage, had a go at some scrap metal earlier and apart from having to replace the two AAA batteries,it's solar with battery back up. it's working a treat.looking in the specs it doesn't state it can be used for gas welding, just tig,MIG,plasma cutting and smaw, shielded metal arc welding.
I will post more when I have had a good welding session.

Not sure but is it not the speed of it darkening which enable its safe use or you end up blind! So if it can handle tig or arc etc then gas should be OK unless Gas welding gives off a particular light spectrum which the filter can't decrease to a safe level.

Hello again,
Just had a good 15 minutes welding with the new mask and it's spot on for the money, clear vision big enough window, strike up and the screen darkens in a split second brilliant stuff.
I remember years back when I had ,had a a flash off arc welding , can't remember how it happened but I was fine until I awoke in the early hours of the morning,my eyes felt like they had sand in them, horrible condition arc eye.
Think I was using a welding glass where the top corner had snapped off and had no spare.
