Thermostat Housing

Post by mikmik » Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:47 am

There's a bolt down the middle of the top of the thermostat housing on my Ital- engined 1.3 Marina

or rather there was...

Any ideas for me?

Should I just try get a new housing or can the bolt be obtained?

Thanks in advance

It's not a bolt its a large plastic screw with a seal. It's there to aid bleeding air from the water system. MGBs also used them. I found this MGB one on Ebay Linky. Should be the same size but can't guarantee it.

Part No. ARA2634

Also at Leacy MG Linky

Buy one of these instead, you will never have to worry again...

They didn't use them on the 1800 marina but as they used them on the mgb you should be able to fit one of those. Be careful though some outlet pipes go the wrong way and as you know the housings only fit one way
