RIP Darren White

Darren was using my sled as a brake rather than the lever on his sled, must have rammed me half a dozen times on the way down.

Great bloke, always friendly and had time to speak to everyone, his car was fantastic also - myself and ben clayton viewed the car before darren bought it and I walked away from it as it needed a lot of work, the standard he bought it back to was a real credit to him. I'm sure that those of us who met him or knew him will really miss seeing him at the shows. RIP.

Blimey, what a shock. Darren was a lovely bloke. My heart goes out to his Father, god knows how he'll cope as they seemed really close. RIP Darren.

Hi Gary,

Good offer, I had thought the same myself. Trying to hold back on arrangements until we know what the family's plans are, we don't want to upset them by doing the wrong thing.

I'll set up a Paypal account using a club email address over the weekend and publish it here.

Think we could start collecting now, and if there's a request for no flowers it should be put towards a charity of the families choice

I too am shocked by this tragic news. He was a great man that was passionate about British cars and was a true gentleman with it. I'm happy to say he was a very good friend.

Rest peacefully,

Ben and Lucy.

ALL

I have set up a PayPal account in the name "donations@morrisital.org.uk" and have kicked it off with a donation myself. You can make donations of any amount.

When making the payment from your own account select the "Personal" tab and then "Gift".

You will get an email confirming your payment and I will get a notification of payment so we can keep tabs on the funds. I'll publish the running value every couple of days.

I'm speechless. They say only the good die young and this is definately so in Darrens case. What a nice guy he was, as others have said, he always had the time to stand and chat and never had a bad word for anyone. R.I.P Darren you will be sadly missed.

Statement from Darrens work emailed today:

Dear all,

Just to let you know there is no verdict from the coroner yet, but his body has been released by the coroner so his dad can make arrangements. When I know these details I will inform all of you.

Thanks for the update Gary, still can't believe it. I guess it must have been very sudden and they say stress can be a factor in today's world.
He always looked fit and well.
I am the nearly the same age  Certainly makes you stop and think how lucky we are and how each day should be cherished.
