Suspension Leg Part Number
I bought this off EBay recently, the number cast into the leg is different from those in my parts books. Can anyone identify it?

Re: Suspension Leg Part Number
Maybe an early leg, before the suspension changes, had them on Huccy along with early type lever arms/trunions...will see if i can check that number chris

What are the numbers in your parts book, Chris?

Re: Suspension Leg Part Number
Part number stayed the same I believe. No casting numbers on my early legs, just the part number. If there is no cambered section above the threaded section then it is an early one. If it does turn out to be an early one and if you want to sell it then let me know

Suspension Leg Part Number
I'm away from home until the weekend, I'll take a pic then and you can have a look and see.
Re: Suspension Leg Part Number
I bought one recently. The bit about "camber" above the threads: I thought the legs were the same from start to finish of the Marina/Ital run (71-84). Now I know they`re not. I`ve checked what I bought and am not sure what I`m looking for- it`s a machined casting. and simply put the threaded section is seemingly in line with the leg centre line (haven`t done a detailed check); haven`t checked the numbers either. I`ll follow the comments to see what I actually have.
Re: Suspension Leg Part Number
Later legs have a cambered edge to the 'leg' section above the threaded section whereas early legs have a flat edge. If I get a chance I'll get some photos of an early leg tomorrow.

Re: Suspension Leg Part Number
Are TC front legs the same as other models? I have a pair in the shed but have not checked the numbers! Pretty sure mine are not early ones but josh may tell me otherwise

Re: Suspension Leg Part Number
TCs have the same suspension as all other Marinas. If you fit early legs with later shocks and trunnions you'd have a job lining the upright and shock up together.
The bottom section of an early leg looks like this, note the plain part is flat all the way along its section

Note the cambered edge on the later leg

Suspension Leg Part Number
Thanks Josh, I'm pretty sure that mine is tapered, I'll post a pic at the weekend.
Re: Suspension Leg Part Number
Now checked. Numbers cast in that can be seen look like 1H5917/8- similar to those in the original post, is left hand side and has the "flat" machining i.e. no camber as in the later bottom photograph. Is there a dimensional difference between the two types leading to the problems stated when switching the same type between the suspension (shock absorber) types? Thanks.
