Re: 50% reduction on young timer car tax
Signed it ;-) We should make things last as long as possible before they are scrapped. But the world is going against this with firmware and software on items we buy. When the software is no longer supported you get forced to change. Hence why I have kept a Windows 10, 32bit PC and Windows 10 64 bit ...

Re: Jubilee seat fabric
Hi Chris,
Not sure that is the same material. Bedford cord was used on retrimming vintage Bentley cars, I think this is corduroy like the material used for trousers possibly? Bedford cord I used is a tough material. one side is more smooth which I used on the rwar parcel shelf as I made a new shelf ...

Re: Jubilee seat fabric
Mine was retrimmed using a navy bedford cord (Not nylon) from Woolies trim. Very hard wearing material. Not sure they still have it though as it was 15 years ago! Very good match for original colour and had a similar look. Nylon was not the best for wearing as it just fell apart.

Re: Cooling...
Hi Tony,
why did you bin the electric fan after recore of the radiator?
I am looking at fitting a fan to help cooling when in static traffic due to the mechanical fan not pulling in enough air.
Also need a to find a good place to recore my rad near me as I do not want to send radiator miles away ...

Re: 2025 Forum Funding Appeal – Help Keep FMM Alive
Glad you can keep it going Ben. It is a great information space unlike Facebook which has a attention span of 10 seconds for that instant gratification followed by disappointment before another topic and then you never find it again.

Re: New engine - should I pack the oil pump with vaseline?
I packed mine with Vaseline, worked fine engine done over 10,000 miles with good oil pressure. Also if you have rebuilt the whole engine you can pack the gudgeon pins with Vaseline and when the engine gets hot you get a much needed lubrication on a new engine cylinder bore. Vaseline when the ...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
They do post on occasions, most seem to be on Facebook which I find impractical to use as a thread and find any meaningful information, pretty useless for anything worth knowing about. I read the posts most days so if I can help anyone I will. this is the best place to post. But I know what you mean ...

May be good for garden planting or banger racing if you have a death wish I guess! If you want a convertible get a proper Mumford. Looks better and has some sort of roll bar.

Re: Hunting for morris marina van front discs
Hi Chris, My question is if you remove the calliper and are doing brake work the pipe is left open. I guess you can leave your bleed pipe with non return valve connected to the open pipe? But you can not use a clamp on braided hoses I assume? That is what I am getting at. The normal hoses you can ...

Re: Hunting for morris marina van front discs
If you push the pedal all the way down the fluid will come out of the bleed nipple, yes you can catch it but I would not put the expelled fluid back in the system so it is wasted. Then if you have an older master cylinder it will need new seals fitted after pushing the pedal all the way past the ...

Re: Hunting for morris marina van front discs
With braided hoses how do you clamp off the pipe to work on them or do you loose the fluid? Or plug the hose when removed. As I use DOT 5 it is rather expensive to spill on the floor

Re: Morris Marina convertable on Ebay
That car is pretty much worthless unless the roof is put back or broken for spares unfortunately. I am amazed they went to the trouble of making a hood for it. Not that classic cars are safe compared to modern vehicles but that is a death trap.
