Pickup seats

Hi Chris

I have a very good original black vinyl tipping passenger one from my Ital Pickup - complete and ready to bolt in. I also have the frame and cover, but no sponge seat squab for the drivers side. The drivers black vinyl cover has various scratches and rips it's solid but best described as tatty. You should be able to source a sponge seat squab from your existing seats.

You have a PM. In the meantime post some pics of your Pickup so far to keep us all interested.

Pickup and Van seats didn't change much at all between the first Mk1 and the last Ital, they were always black vinyl. The one exception was the Van with L trim which amounted to dark grey cloth seats and an extra sun visor.

If you check the documents section on here you will find the BL brochures for all the Commercials and can check exactly what the interior should look like.

Here's my Pickup.

Chris

I can't find any records starting with that code at all. Possibly because it's ex MOD.

I based my identification as a Mk2 based on the front bumper and sidelight/indicators. Mk3s are different. The grill you have used is from a Mk2 1.3 saloon or coupe. The Mk2 grill should be the same as a Mk1, with the split grills and the vertical centre nose, check the brochures the link is below.

Chassis numbers should start as follows,

Mk1s normally start with M/AU9H or YAU9H

Mk2s normally start with YE2UKH

Mk3s normally start with LE2UKH

Here is the link to the brochures.

The body is as I bought it Chris. The front suspension has been changed for the 1.8 I would think as it has discs fitted and 14 inch wheels whilst the rear are drum and 13 inch . So another requirement will be one of each for spares !! The chassis plate appears made up so would imagine the MOD had it without one and DVLA invented one when it was first registered on civvy street . Chris .

Disks were an option, and standard from Nov 1978, all original Pickups came with the heavy duty front and rear suspension. 1.8 saloons and coupes used the same softer spring rate as the 1.3 saloons and coupes. If you swap the front 4.5" PCD hubs to saloon 3.75" PCD hubs you will have the same stud pattern all round. This is what is on Barmy's white Pickup.

My Pickup is on the original 4.5" PCD hubs front and rear.
